Chi-yuen did not adapt well to the traditional study mode in secondary school, so he had always lacked motivation to learn. Enrolling in PolyU HKCC became a turning point for him. Not only did he find the joy and motivation to learn, but his personality also became more mature. He found that the lecturers were very friendly and dedicated to teaching; the senior fellow students were also happy to communicate with the juniors, and the learning atmosphere was good. What's more important was that the programme aligned with his interests. Chi-yuen, who has been passionate about computers since childhood, acquired a variety of computer software and hardware knowledge from the programme, such as cloud computing, mobile apps design, and artificial intelligence and machine learning emerged in recent years, which were both practical and interesting.
Chi-yuen was also actively engaged in extracurricular activities. He served as a student ambassador and an event emcee, participating in different types of workshops and organising orientation camps, etc. Through these activities, he met a group of friends. In addition, he participated in internships in Hong Kong and Beijing, as well as an exchange programme in Munich, Germany, all of which provided him with valuable experiences.
