CPCE Project “Educational Programme on Tai O Pang Uk” Receives Funding of HK$1.78 Million

Led by Mr Chang Hoi-wood, Associate Division Head of the Division of Social Sciences, Humanities and Design of CPCE, the conservation education project “Educational Programme on Tai O Pang Uk” obtained funding of HK$1.78 million under the category “Education and Engagement Projects” from the Lantau Conservation Fund on 30 September 2022.
This 18-month project aims to design and produce a set of educational materials to introduce the culture of stilt houses (Pang Uk) at Tai O. These materials can be used in field visits, workshops, and classes. Educational programmes such as themed exhibitions, talks, workshops, and guided tours will be organised so as to inspire and educate primary and secondary school students about this local but vanishing traditional culture of fishermen.
