The Division of Languages and Communication of PolyU CPCE collaborated with social enterprise CanTONE and non-profit organisation New Home Association to host a cultural exchange workshop with a Mid-Autumn Festival theme on 25 September 2024. The activity aimed to introduce Chinese culture to ethnic minority children, allowing them to make lanterns and enjoy halal mooncakes together.
The workshop attracted about 70 participants, including 20 PolyU HKCC students studying the "Cantonese Studies and Application" subject and around 50 ethnic minority children. During the event, our students learned to use CanTONE’s innovative artificial intelligence tools for the first time and taught ethnic minority children some Mid-Autumn Festival related Cantonese vocabulary and simple dialogues. The three-hour activity concluded on a high note.
