CALL FOR PAPERS

The Conference highlights recent research and practical insights regarding assistive robots supporting aging in place (AIP). Informed by both research and practice, the event facilitates interdisciplinary co-creation among academics, researchers, practitioners, and students.

The Organising Committee invites submissions for presentation at the Conference. Authors who wish to submit a full paper are required to submit an abstract first.


Information about Submission

Please submit an abstract of 150 to 300 words through the abstract submission form below.

Authors who wish to submit a full paper should submit an abstract first. Full papers (minimum 3,000 words) should be sent to the conference email at iidsrobotics2026@speed-polyu.edu.hk.

Suggested topics may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assistive robot design for aging in place
  • Human-robot interaction and user experience for older adults
  • Co-creation and participatory design of assistive robots
  • Technology acceptance and adoption of assistive robots
  • Human-centered assistive robotics in home, community, health, and social care settings
  • Public policy, ethical, and social issues related to assistive robotics and aging in place
  • Implementation and evaluation of assistive robot technologies in practice

Submitted abstracts/papers will be peer-reviewed by the PI/Co-PI review panel. A total of 12 abstracts will be selected and scheduled for presentation in the Conference’s parallel sessions.

Students' presentations

A dedicated student session encourages undergraduate and postgraduate students to apply theory, develop research ideas, and network with experts. Academics supervising students taking Integrated Study and design subject Graduation Project may recommend outstanding work for presentation.

Outstanding submissions will be considered for:

  • Best Paper Awards (Student / Non-student)

  • Best Reviewer Awards


Publication Opportunities

Accepted papers may be considered for publication in the Special Issue Call for Papers: Facilitating Aging in Place with Assistive Robots: Co-Creation, Adoption, and Policy Implications
