Overview of Student Barometer 2023 Results

For the ninth consecutive year, PolyU CPCE participated in the Student Barometer (SB) exercise, where its overall local student satisfaction rate in 2023 was on par with the global and Asian benchmarks, reflecting that PolyU CPCE’s performance lived up to international standards in many important aspects of students’ experience.  

The SB exercise, a global survey1 conducted by the independent research company “i-graduate”, evaluates students’ experience in the areas of arrival, learning, living, and support.  In 2023, PolyU CPCE received an overall local student satisfaction rate2 of 87.9%, same as the Asian benchmark and comparable to the global benchmark.

Among the local students of the participating institutions, the survey revealed that:

  • In learning elements, PolyU CPCE attained a high average student satisfaction rate3 of 87.1%, in the same league as the global and Asian benchmarks.
  • Of the 34 individual learning elements, PolyU CPCE outperformed both the global and Asian benchmarks in 13 of them, including “Expert Lecturers”, “Quality of Lectures”, “Online Lectures”, “Online Tutorials”, “Programme Content”, “Learning Technology”, “Learning Support”, and “The Level of Research Activity”. The majority of them obtained a satisfaction rate above 90%, with the highest being 94.4% for “Expert Lecturers”.
  • Regarding support services, PolyU CPCE attained a satisfaction rate over 90% in 6 elements, including “Campus Facilities Office”, “Counselling Service”, “Academic Advisory”, and “Student Affairs Office”.
