Dr Shi Huiwen 時惠文博士

Wen’s research interests lie in contemporary poetics, life writing, service learning, and English language pedagogy. She teaches courses such as “Introduction to Literature in English”, “Fiction and Life”, “English for Academic Studies”, and “Creative Writing”. Her service-learning course, “Storytelling for Understanding: Refugee Children in Hong Kong”, uses personal narratives as an instrument to enhance English language communication, cultural understanding, and community service. Her teaching fuses both the practical side of language learning and the critical/creative edge. Ultimately, she wishes to cultivate students to be empathetic humanists who have a global mindset. An ardent lover of language and literature, Wen believes in the magic and power of words, and Language Collage manifests this belief.
Dr CHEUNG Lok-ming, Eric 張諾銘博士

Eric loves, teaches and researches writing. He is especially interested in students’ academic writing and public relations/marketing texts. His research interests include text linguistics, corpus linguistics for language teaching and learning, and EAP practitioners’ identity and agency. You may be able to spot Eric having a post-lunch walk in Cherry Street Park, listening to podcasts or music. His current favourites are boy pablo, Ginger Root and Khruangbin, but what he puts on repeat all the time are The Beatles, Chet Baker, John Mayer and Kings of Convenience.
Dr Chen Shu, Hazel 陳抒博士

Hazel’s research lies in the intersection of Chinese literary and media studies. She investigates how sound media like radio, as an invisible force and a sonic environment, shapes the dynamics of other forms of cultural production during the modern era. Her scholarly interests encompass sound studies, Sinophone literature and culture, transnational cinema and visual culture. She is also an avid art critic, composing critiques for performing arts; her essays can be found in Dance Journal Hong Kong and publications of the International Association of Theatre Critics. She teaches courses including "Introduction to Modern Chinese Literature," "Chinese Film and Fiction," and "Film Art, Language, and Culture." Her teaching approach emphasizes both the aesthetic aspects of text and their interactions with cultural, historical, and technological contexts. Hazel aspires to enhance students' analytical, interpretative, and self-expression skills through literary and artistic cultivation in a bilingual setting. She believes this preparation is crucial to enable students to become global citizens with distinct cultural identities.

鄭博士任教中文及普通話相關課程,她對港式中文的發展感興趣,也深信同儕反饋可為學習帶來正面影響。她的研究興趣分兩個範疇,一是港式中文的使用情況,例如港產片字幕演變、言語行為分析、後疫情時代的港式中文等等;二是多媒體在語文教學上的應用,她致力為學生創建討論平台,鼓勵同學全方位認識自己和他人,實現自主學習。
鄭博士目前正在研究的課題有:線上作品集 (eportfolio)、遊戲化教學(gamification)及文本情感分析 (sentimental analysis)。
Mr Lo Po-kan, Noble 勞保勤先生

Noble completed his postgraduate degrees at HKU, CUHK, and the University of Oxford. He also obtained his Cambridge CELTA and Harvard Certificate in Advanced Education Leadership. He served as a member of the Senate at the Open University of Hong Kong (now known as Hong Kong Metropolitan University). He is an ambassador of the Harvard Graduate School of Education, a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a chartered linguist of the Chartered Institute of Linguists, and a member of the British Educational Research Association and the Philosophy of Education Society of Great Britain. He was honoured with the Educational Technology Research and Development (ETR&D) 2023 Reviewer Excellence Award in the ETR&D Annual Board Meeting.
Ms Leung, Shin-yee Cindy 梁倩儀女士

Cindy is currently a lecturer who teaches academic English for sub-degree students. With a background in science and linguistics, her interest lies in semantics, meanings in language, and health science. She is excited to be part of the editorial team of Language Collage. As a language lover, she is fascinated by words. She even enjoys listening to languages she does not understand, such as Korean, Spanish, Italian… In daily life, one of her interests is cooking. She enjoys trying out different recipes and various spices from around the world, which is relaxing and therapeutic to her.

Cheng Man-hin, Troels 鄭文軒
Student Designer
Troels is furthering his studies at the Norwich University of the Arts, after finishing his Visual Communication programme at HKCC. Apart from his studies, he is actively involved in several live projects, focusing on visual/cultural identity design, editorial, and typography.
He believes that “design is simply about being logical, functional, and aesthetic.” A person with dreams and passion, Troels hopes to work with talents across the world and create designs that touch people’s hearts.
Chan Lok-yiu, Kristy 陳樂遙
Student Designer
A student of Visual Communication, Kristy aspires to become a designer, and she is now studying at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Aside from her studies, she aims to create a variety of unique designs. “Design creates culture. Culture shapes values. Values determine the future.” This is her motto.
