On 21 August 2025, the 2025 21st Century Cup Global Youth Cultural Exchange Conference was successfully held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Organised by China Daily, the event’s highlight was the English Public Speaking Programme—the international segment of the “21st Century Cup” National English Speaking Competition.
With over one million participants annually across mainland China and more than 20,000 students from 500 Hong Kong schools since 2017, the Competition continues to equip young people with English public speaking proficiency, cultivate innovative thinking, and broaden global horizons.
The Programme’s judging panel comprised distinguished experts from the Education Bureau and esteemed scholars, including Mr Noble Lo, Lecturer at the Division of Languages and Communication of PolyU CPCE. The competition proved not only a celebration of exceptional young orators but also a testament to the influence of young voices in building a more interconnected world.
