On 27 February 2026, at the invitation of the Education Bureau, Dr Catherine Cheng, Lecturer in the Division of Languages and Communication of PolyU CPCE, conducted a workshop entitled “From Learner to Creator: Tell Better Stories Powered by GenAI” for 30 secondary school teachers and students.
The session explored how poetry can be transformed into pop songs and multimedia narratives through the use of generative AI. The participants learned to analyse poetic themes and translate them into musical ideas, while practical demonstrations illustrated how AI tools can support song composition, ensure consistency in character and style, and create visual effects that enrich storytelling in music videos.
Students from the Division also provided on-site assistance, assisting the participants during hands-on exercises and facilitating small-group discussions throughout the workshop.
