PolyU CPCE signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) from Indonesia on 9 June 2026 at the PolyU West Kowloon Campus, marking the commencement of a two-year strategic partnership aimed at promoting academic research and enhancing educational opportunities for students of both institutions.
Forging a Strategic Partnership for Global Education
The MOU was officially signed by Prof. Peter Yuen, Dean of PolyU CPCE, and Dr Bambang Sigit Widodo, Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, Ranking, Publications and Science Center of UNESA. The ceremony was graced by a distinguished delegation from UNESA, which included presentations on research achievements by UNESA’s senior leadership.
During the ceremony, Prof. Yuen and Dr Widodo shared insights into their respective institutions’ latest developments, educational philosophies, as well as their diverse curricular and extra-curricular activities. Representatives from both sides also engaged in a fruitful exchange of ideas, actively exploring potential areas to further expand their collaborative efforts.
Driving Innovation through CPCECPR and Comprehensive Exchange
Under this two-year agreement, the collaboration will be undertaken in close partnership with the CPCE Centre for Pedagogic Research (CPCECPR). The two institutions have agreed to pursue comprehensive cooperation in the following key areas:
- Academic Exchange and Research Collaboration: Facilitating joint research initiatives, particularly through the resources and expertise of CPCECPR.
- Student Exchanges: Providing enriching international learning experiences through both onsite and virtual student exchange programmes.
- Joint Academic Events: Co-organising seminars, workshops, and international conferences to foster intellectual discourse.
- Knowledge Sharing: Exchanging academic information, research data, and publications to benefit the scholarly communities of both institutions.
