On 2 January 2025, 16 students joined “A Visit to M+ — A Feast of Contemporary Art and Culture” organised by PolyU HKCC’s Associate of Arts programme.
At M+, a museum of contemporary visual culture, the students explored its eclectic and thought-provoking exhibits. Some marvelled at musical instruments crafted from discarded materials, which demonstrated how ordinary objects can become extraordinary art in the right context. Others were inspired by artwork created from boiling down tens of thousands of bottles of Coca-Cola, sparking reflections on consumer culture’s environmental impact. Through historical contexts and insights into artists’ lives, students learned to delve into the meaning of art from multiple perspectives.
The visit to M+ was more than an artistic experience. It was a journey of spiritual awakening, where students discovered themselves, envisioned future possibilities, and connected with like-minded peers, all while embracing the infinite wonders of art and culture.
