Mr Mojalefa Mogono, Consul General of South Africa in Hong Kong, visited the PolyU West Kowloon Campus on 27 March 2025. He was warmly received by PolyU CPCE’s senior management, including Prof. Peter Yuen, Dean of PolyU CPCE, Dr Jason Chan, MH, JP, Associate Dean (Information and Development) of PolyU CPCE and Director of PolyU SPEED, Dr Anthony Loh, Division Head of Division of Science, Engineering, and Health Studies and Director of PolyU HKCC, and Dr Stephanie Lee, Associate Division Head of Division of Social Sciences, Humanities and Design and Academic Registrar.
During the visit, the PolyU CPCE team introduced Mr Mogono to the overview of the College, focusing on the "2+2" articulation pathway of PolyU HKCC and PolyU SPEED. This pathway allows students to obtain a degree awarded by PolyU, a world top 100 university, in four years. Additionally, students can opt for the "2+2+1" pathway, which enables them to continue their studies in a one-year full-time master's programme at PolyU SPEED, also leading to a master's degree awarded by PolyU.
Mr Mogono later toured campus facilities, including laboratories and the Virtual Reality Lab, and interacted with students. The College also presented its newly established Belt and Road Scholarship at PolyU SPEED, aimed at encouraging students from Belt and Road countries to pursue higher education in Hong Kong.
The visit served to strengthen ties between South Africa and Hong Kong in the field of education, paving the way for potential future collaboration.
