Division of Languages and Communication Co-organises Workshop on "When Cantonese meets Digital Humanities"

The Division of Languages and Communication of PolyU CPCE and The Linguistic Society of Hong Kong co-organised the Twenty-fourth Workshop on Cantonese themed “When Cantonese meets Digital Humanities” on 6 July 2024. Scholars and students were invited to share their works on all areas of Cantonese linguistics, particularly those related to digital humanities, GenAI and corpus linguistics.

Prof. Peter Yuen, Dean of PolyU CPCE, was invited to deliver a welcome speech. Dr Cheung Kwan-hin, Former Associate Division Head of the Division of Languages and Communication, Prof. Chin Chi-on Andy from Hong Kong Metropolitan University, and Mr Raymond Pai from The University of British Columbia, were invited as special speakers. In addition, there were 18 presentations and two parallel sessions from home and abroad.
