At the award ceremony for the "Qinshan Nuclear Power Cup” 4th October Youth Literature Literary Award held in Haiyan, Zhejiang on 17 October 2025, Dr Estella Zhao, Senior Lecturer of the Division of Languages and Communication of PolyU CPCE, was awarded the Gold Award in the Science Fiction category for her work "Star Horse Secret Language".
Organised by Beijing Youth and Children's Publishing House, the October Youth Literature Literary Award invites submissions of original, unpublished children’s literary works. This year's competition attracted over 2,000 valid entries. A panel of writers, critics and editors conducted three rounds of rigorous evaluation, ultimately selecting one Gold Award winner and three Commendation recipients in each of the five categories: Fiction, Fairy Tales, Essays, Poetry and Science Fiction.
"Star Horse Secret Language" was highly praised by the judges for its "scientific foundation, dazzling imagination, and emotional warmth", making its Gold Award recognition thoroughly merited.
