The United States Government recently announced the removal of the “de minimis” exemption and a tariff increase for postal items dispatched from the mainland and Hong Kong to the US. Dr Joseph Lau, Senior Lecturer at the Division of Business and Hospitality Management of PolyU CPCE, analysed the implications of this policy change on e-commerce in the mainland and Hong Kong during his appearance on TVB News programme “A Closer Look”.
