On 7 February 2026, 20 associate degree students took part in “Between Halls and Worlds: Guided Tour of the Ancient Egyptian Civilisation Exhibition” at the Hong Kong Palace Museum, an event jointly organised by PolyU HKCC’s Associate of Arts and Associate in Language and Culture programmes.
Centred around the museum’s special exhibition on ancient Egyptian civilisation, the guided tour also covered seven permanent galleries, offering the students an immersive cultural experience at the intersection of Chinese heritage and world civilisations. Led by professional docents, the participating students explored the belief systems, social structures and craftsmanship of ancient Egypt through the artefacts on display.
The activity provided the students with an interdisciplinary cultural experience and a meaningful way to connect classroom knowledge with the wider world. In their post-visit reflections, many students shared thoughtful insights, with several expressing that the tour had deepened their understanding of how history and culture continue to shape contemporary society.
