Farm Visit and Plant Dyeing Workshop

On 16 January 2024, a group of 18 PolyU HKCC sub-degree business students participated in a farm visit and plant dyeing workshop held in Hok Tau, Fanling. The experience commenced with an insightful walk through a diverse range of trees, each contributing its own unique pigment for the dyeing process. During the workshop, the students were introduced to traditional techniques like rubbing and tie-dyeing, enabling them to extract vibrant and natural colours from the plants. They then utilised these skills to design their own recycled bags, incorporating sustainable plant dyes to create distinctive fabric patterns.
