The School of Professional Education and Executive Development of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU SPEED) held the Graduation Ceremony for the second intake of the Certificate in Traffic Engineering on 13 March 2026 at the PolyU West Kowloon Campus. A total of 12 students successfully completed the ten‑month programme.

In his speech, Mr Chow commended the programme for closely aligning with Hong Kong’s practical traffic engineering needs. He encouraged graduates to integrate theory with practice and contribute to the city’s transportation development.

Dr Chan expressed gratitude for the continued trust and support from the Transport Department. He noted that the programme has nurtured a new generation of traffic engineering professionals and hoped the graduates would apply their knowledge effectively in their future roles, advancing smart mobility and sustainable transport systems.

Graduate representatives, Mr Chow Terence Kayin and Mr Lau Chi-Yung, shared their gratitude towards the lecturers for their dedicated guidance and PolyU SPEED for providing an excellent learning environment. Through the professional training in the programme, they gained essential knowledge and skills in traffic engineering, which they believe will greatly benefit their future careers.

The Certificate in Traffic Engineering is tailored for newly recruited Trainee Technical Officers (Traffic Engineering). Covering four major areas, it equips students with practical skills and professional knowledge. Building on the outstanding performance of the first cohort, the second intake has once again demonstrated the programme’s mission of integrating theory with practice.
