PolyU CPCE held its first fashion show with the themed related to environmental protection - the " Match Me If You Can Sustainable Fashion Show Catwalk Competition" - on 18 April 2024. The event allowed PolyU HKCC and PolyU SPEED students to give second-hand clothing new value.
The distinguished guests in attendance were Prof. Peter Yuen, Dean of PolyU CPCE, Dr Anthony Loh, Director of PolyU HKCC and Division Head of the Division of Science, Engineering, and Health Studies of PolyU CPCE, and Prof. Roger Chan, Division Head of the Division of Social Sciences, Humanities and Design of PolyU CPCE. The judging panel included Mr Alex Law, Founder of Styoolish, Matchalike Technology Company Limited, Ms Brenda Choi, Founder of Sliver-In Fashion Design, and Dr Joseph Lau, Interim Head of Student Affairs of PolyU CPCE.
Students transformed into models, breathing new life into upcycled garments. Additionally, students participated in the “revive” project for used clothing organised by Styoolish, adding further sustainability elements to the educational significance of the event.
