For the eleventh consecutive year, CPCE participated in the Student Barometer (SB) exercise, where its overall local student satisfaction rate1 in 2025 reached 90.5%, surpassing both the global benchmark (89.2%) and the Asian benchmark (88.4%). This also marks the second consecutive year that the rate has remained above 90%.
The SB exercise, conducted by the independent research company Etio, is a global survey2 of students’ experience in the areas of arrival, learning, living, and support. This was the first year the survey also covered respondents from SPEED’s taught postgraduate programmes. The results of responses from CPCE students were benchmarked against those of participating universities/ institutions from around the world.
Among the local students of the participating institutions, the survey revealed that:
- In learning elements, CPCE attained an overall student satisfaction rate3 of 87.9%, on par with the global benchmark and the Asian benchmark.
- Of the 32 individual learning elements, CPCE outperformed both the global and Asian benchmarks in 9 of them, namely “Expert Lecturers”, “Quality of Lectures”, “The Level of Research Activity”, “Good Teachers”, “Programme Organisation”, “Learning Technology”, “Online Study Materials”, “Laboratories”, and “Learning Spaces”. The majority of these obtained a satisfaction rate above 90%, with the highest being 95.1% for “Expert Lecturers”.
- Regarding support services, CPCE attained a satisfaction rate over 90% in 9 elements. Notably, among these high-performing services, a few of them also outperformed both the global and Asian benchmarks, including “Campus Facilities Office” (97.6%), “IT Support” (95.3%), and “Academic Advisory” (94.4%).
