PolyU CPCE Announces Landmark Educational Partnership with Google Cloud Hong Kong

PolyU CPCE has announced a landmark partnership with Google Cloud Hong Kong, making it the first tertiary institution in Asia Pacific to achieve the largest‑scale deployment of Gemini Pro 3 in higher education. This milestone marks a new era of AI‑augmented teaching, learning, and research.

The collaboration was officiated at the “PolyU CPCE x Google AI Collaboration Kick‑off Ceremony” held on 13 January 2026, with the presence of Prof. Peter Yuen, Dean of PolyU CPCE, Dr Jason Chan, MH, JP, Associate Dean (Information and Development), Head of Information Technology of PolyU CPCE, and Director of PolyU SPEED, and Mr Oliver Parker, Vice President, Global Generative AI Go‑to‑Market, Google Cloud.

Prof. Peter Yuen highlighted the College’s vision for ethical and effective AI integration: “We embrace AI in teaching, learning, and research, ensuring students can use it ethically without compromising deep learning or essential skills. We are excited about our collaboration with Google and look forward to its success.”

Dr Jason Chan emphasised the strategic significance of the partnership: “This collaboration will holistically enhance the AI application capabilities of our staff and students, boosting the College’s long‑term competitiveness. We are honoured to be the first tertiary institution in Asia Pacific to achieve the largest‑scale deployment of Gemini Pro 3 in higher education. This milestone reflects the College’s significant investment in AI‑augmented teaching, learning, and research.”

Through this partnership, PolyU CPCE has subscribed to Gemini Pro 3, which includes:

  • Deep Research & Idea Generation Agents
  • NotebookLM for Enterprise
  • Veo (Video Generation)

This initiative will benefit all members of the PolyU CPCE community, including students from PolyU SPEED and PolyU HKCC, as well as teaching and research staff.

The partnership aims to comprehensively enhance the quality of teaching, learning, and research, improve the overall learning experience, and equip students with future‑ready skills in using AI ethically and effectively.
