PolyU SPEED celebrated the launch of its "Elite Ambassador Programme" by hosting a Welcome Luncheon at Hotel ICON on 9 May 2026, where 17 master's graduates were thanked for their enthusiastic participation. During the event, Dr Jason Chan, MH, JP, Director of PolyU SPEED, presented each of them with a Certificate of Appreciation.
Gathering Industry Elites and Recognising Excellence
They graduated from a wide range of our master’s programmes, including Green Business Management, Smart Engineering and Construction, Chinese Creative Writing and Media Culture, and Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality Management. They bring exceptional leadership experience across diverse sectors, fully reflecting the diverse development and high quality of professionals cultivated by PolyU SPEED — including founders and CEOs in tech and catering, directors in finance and real estate, general managers in engineering, and senior specialists in education, media, and healthcare.
Building a Network of Leaders to Drive GBA Development
In his welcome speech, Dr Jason Chan, MH, JP, Director of PolyU SPEED, expressed his high expectations for the programme. “The establishment of the ‘Elite Ambassador Programme’ marks a significant milestone for PolyU SPEED. Today, we are not just celebrating the personal success of these 17 ambassadors; we are building a dynamic and powerful network of industry leaders. We are grateful for their participation. Their professional experiences are invaluable assets to our current students and the entire alumni community. We hope that through this platform, we can foster a culture of mentorship, promote lifelong learning, and contribute to the talent development within the Greater Bay Area.”
Ambassadors Share Experiences: A Hub for Knowledge and Networking
The luncheon was filled with enthusiasm, with ambassadors actively sharing how their studies at PolyU SPEED have empowered their career development.
Ms Ma Xiaoyong, a former TV host and a graduate of the MA in Chinese Creative Writing and Media Culture, shared, "Coming to Hong Kong, my studies at PolyU SPEED were more than just an academic benefit. The programme gave me a profound understanding that the Greater Bay Area is culturally inseparable. After graduation, this knowledge has been tremendously helpful for my active integration into the GBA's development, both in my career and in promoting cultural exchange. It was an excellent choice."
Ms Wang Xing, CEO of a home appliance enterprise and a graduate of the MSc in Green Business Management, also remarked, “Hong Kong is the best platform for businesses to connect with the world. The PolyU SPEED programme, especially the knowledge on ESG and green supply chains, has significantly enhanced my understanding of corporate management. What I learned this year can be immediately applied to the company, guiding our business towards a more international management approach, which is immensely beneficial for our overall development.”
Furthermore, PolyU SPEED has proven to be a vital incubator for business partnerships. Ms Zhang Xiujuan, Co-founder and General Manager of a catering management enterprise and a graduate of the MSc in Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality Management, and Mr Li Zhikai, Founder and Director of a technology enterprise and a graduate of the MSc in Green Business Management, met during their studies through a group project.
Ms Zhang shared this special connection: "We first met during our very first group project and have now become business partners about to collaborate on a new venture. We are incredibly grateful that the School not only broadened our horizons through visits to top corporations but, more importantly, provided such a valuable platform that transformed us from classmates into collaborators."
The “Elite Ambassador Programme” will serve as a vital platform for PolyU SPEED to strengthen its connections with a graduate and the industry, creating more opportunities for knowledge sharing and professional networking, while jointly contributing to the wider community.
