PolyU HKCC and PolyU SPEED set up an on-site application and consultation booths at the PolyU West Kowloon Campus on 16 July 2025, the release day of HKDSE results. Dr Anthony Loh, Director of PolyU HKCC, and Dr Jason Chan, MH, JP, Director of PolyU SPEED, were present to cheer on applicants and offer academic advice, encouraging students to pursue their aspirations with confidence.
2-Year Transfer or 4-Year Direct Flight? The Choice Is Yours!
Dr Jason Chan, Director of PolyU SPEED, highlighted that PolyU SPEED is launching its first-ever 4-year full-time undergraduate programmes in the 2025/26 academic year, offering DSE graduates greater flexibility in planning their academic paths. Students can choose between two study modes based on their goals and academic performance:
2-Year Transfer Mode
Complete the first two years of studies and graduate from PolyU HKCC with a sub-degree awarded by PolyU, then articulate to a UGC-funded degree programme or other degree programmes.
4-Year Direct Flight Mode
Complete the full 4-year undergraduate programme and graduate from PolyU SPEED with a degree awarded by PolyU, which is highly recognised and beneficial for further studies and career development.
A total of 26 4-year programmes are offered across four major academic areas: Business and Hospitality Management; Languages and Communication; Social Sciences, Humanities and Design; and Science, Engineering and Health Studies. These programmes are designed to suit students with diverse interests and career goals.
Dr Jason Chan stated, “PolyU SPEED’s 4-year full-time undergraduate programmes offer DSE graduates great flexibility and autonomy through the ‘Direct Flight’ and ‘Transfer’ modes. For students who perform well in the first two years, we are more than happy to support their transfer to UGC-funded degree programmes. For those who wish to complete the full 4 years at PolyU SPEED, I firmly believe that a degree awarded by PolyU, one of the world’s top 100 universities, will be of tremendous value to their future academic and professional development.”
Dr Anthony Loh also remarked that PolyU SPEED’s 4-year full-time undergraduate programmes offer both flexibility and security. In addition to the existing “2+2” articulation pathway between PolyU HKCC and PolyU SPEED, these new programmes provide an ideal non-JUPAS option for DSE graduates.
Mainland students are also welcome to apply for the above programmes.
