PolyU SPEED partnered with HK01 to host two sessions of the “Media Exploration Journey” on 23 and 24 July 2025, offering incoming students who have applied for admission to PolyU SPEED a free opportunity to visit this renowned media organisation. Participants experienced the news production process firsthand and gained deeper insights into the practical operations of the media industry.
Students first attended thematic lectures covering the latest concepts in business administration, languages and communication, artificial intelligence and design, and data science. They then participated in hands-on workshops, including news anchoring, news writing, fact-checking, and data journalism. Students practised using a teleprompter to simulate live news broadcasting and learned how to guide AI tools like Perplexity with clear prompts to efficiently gather information.
The atmosphere was lively, with students actively engaging and asking questions. A heartfelt thank you to every student for their enthusiastic participation, which brought this exploration journey to a perfect close!
