From 9 to 13 May 2025, students from PolyU SPEED’s Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Media and Communication Design programme embarked on the Taipei Design Tour 2025, gaining firsthand insight into the city’s vibrant design industry and education landscape.
A highlight was the annual Young Designers’ Exhibition (YODEX), which showcased 3,500 creative works of graduating students from over 60 design schools. To bridge classroom learning with industry practices, the students also visited some of the city’s top design firms—including justfont, Project On Museum, DDG, Magic Creative, Plugin B&V, and Elephant Design—where they engaged with professional designers and explored inner workings of the field.
The tour also gave the students the chance to experience Taipei’s culture and appreciate how local lifestyle, traditions and urban environments inspire contemporary design thinking.
