CPCE Active Scholar Awards
Starting 2021, CPCE presents the Active Scholar Awards annually to recognise the outstanding contributions and commitment of CPCE academic members who have actively published their research findings.

Dr Joseph LAU, | Cruise, ferry, impacts of climate change, maritime education and training, transport history, sustainability issues, supply chain resilience, health logistics, human remains, and regional development. | I am excited to receive this award for three consecutive years. In the past 15 years, I have had success in establishing a leading interdisciplinary research team from more than 20 countries and regions spreading over five continents. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks and sincere appreciation for my College’s unreserved support and encouragement. |

Dr Peggy NG, Interim Head of Marketing and Communications and Principal Lecturer [BHM] | Educational management, higher education, social responsibility and technology management. | This award means a lot to me as this is an opportunity for me to keep moving forward. It’s not easy to be an active researcher while having teaching and administrative duties during the semester. I would like to thank the CPCE CRO for promoting and developing a research culture and I found it very encouraging. In 2020, I joined the “CPCE Productive Scholar” scheme and teaching remission could be granted so that I could have more time to write research proposals and research papers. This award represents a significant recognition, affirming that embarking on the research journey was a rewarding decision. |

Dr Stephanie LEE, Interim College Registrar and Associate Division Head [SSHD] | Mental health and wellbeing, public health, sustainable development, tourism, educational psychology, and consumer psychology. Her work aims to bridge theory and practice, generating research that offers insights for policy and contributes to discussions on wellbeing and sustainability. Furthermore, Dr Lee contributes to the academic community as an editor for the Q2 peer-reviewed international journal Public Administration and Policy published by Emerald, enhancing the dissemination of impactful research. | I am profoundly honoured to receive this award. This recognition validates my sustained commitment to scholarship and underscores the importance of tenacity in academia. Research, for me, is both a catalyst and cornerstone—it sparks my intellectual curiosity and forms the bedrock of my pedagogical approach. I perceive research as a unique blend of art and science, requiring methodological rigor coupled with creative exploration, which makes this endeavour both challenging and rewarding. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Associate Dean (Research) and CPCE Research Committee Chairman Prof. C. W. Leung for his recognition, the Division Head Prof. Roger Chan for his support, and the Dean Prof. Peter Yuen for cultivating a research-conducive environment. The camaraderie among my collaborators, notably Dr Edmund Wut, Dr Bill Xu, and Dr Joseph Lau, has significantly enriched my academic journey.
