The Hong Kong laws and penalties for narcotics offences may be different from other countries.
In accordance with the Dangerous Drug Ordinance, any person who has in their possession; or smokes, inhales, ingest or injects a dangerous drug (e.g. Cannabis), shall be liable upon conviction to a fine of maximum. HK$ 1,000,000 and imprisonment for 7 years.
Offending student has to face an immediate termination of hall residence and the case will be brought up to Student Discipline Committee.
