Description: As one of the first-generation communities within the Northern Metropolis (NM), Queen’s Hill provides a valuable opportunity to reflect on how planning, design and community infrastructure can better support resident wellbeing in new towns. This interactive workshop will use Queen’s Hill as a living case study to explore practical lessons for creating future NM communities that are more intergenerational, inclusive, resilient and supportive of everyday community life. Designed for academics, professionals and NGO practitioners, the workshop will examine how user-centred spatial design, sustainable community programmes and integrated infrastructure can foster meaningful interactions across generations, strengthen social connectedness, promote inclusion for diverse population groups, and enhance health and wellbeing outcomes. Through a series of co-creation discussions, participants will generate forward-looking and actionable ideas to inform the planning and development of future communities across the Northern Metropolis.
